Answered Prayer! Squirty is found!

lost squirty dog 2

My sister and her family have been on a mission trip since June 28 building a church in Ecuador.  They left their garden, flowers and cats to my parents and me to care for.  They left their three dogs (Kai, Squirty and Little Dude) with a friend from work.

On July 4, Squirty heard some fireworks go off and she ran away from the people watching her.  They chased her and even took Kai to smell around the neighborhood looking for her, but they could not find her.

On July 6, my parents and I found out that she was gone and we contacted our local dog shelter.  Squirty was already listed as missing with them.  My mom made signs and drove me around the neighborhood where Squirty was last seen and we put them on stop signs.  We went to my sisters house and called for Squirty and searched the garage and yard for her, but she was not there.

Tessa was very worried and really wanted to help so she made some signs too.

On July 7, we got a call about a lost chihuahua, but sadly it was not Squirty.  So at church that morning, we asked that there be a special prayer during the worship service.  My sister's whole family are members at our church, and they are off building a church in Ecuador… we did NOT want them to come home and find out their beloved dog was gone.  Our head elder prayed a very nice prayer asking God to help us find Squirty.

Today, July 8, my parents went out looking for Squirty.  Several people said they had seen a dog matching her description.  Then they got a call.  Someone had seen the signs (YAY!) and had Squirty!  God answers prayers!  She is currently at my parents house.  She has had a long adventure… she may have a hurt leg and she looks a little thin, but she is home!

We are all SO GLAD that my sister and her family will come home in a couple of days to all their pets.  Praise the Lord!  Yay for answered prayers!

Here is a picture of Squirty in "protective custody" at my parents house.
