We were playing Salon today… I was the customer and Tessa was the "hair cutter girl."  When Tessa was done brushing, cutting, and straightening my hair this is what she said…

Tessa:  Would you like some spray?  It has sparkly jewels, and glitter.

Me:  Sure

Tessa:  (spray, spray, spray)  I'm all done.

Me:  How much do you charge?  Here is twenty dollars.

Tessa:  Hair cutting is free for all moms and customers.  Are you a mom?

Me:  Yes

Tessa:  Are you a customer?

Me:  Yes

Tessa:  Then it is free!

Then it was time for me to do her hair.  After I finished everything (including spray that had diamonds and sparkly jewels) I said…

Me:  That will be $20

Tessa: (blank look)

Me:  That will be $10????

Tessa: (blank look)

Me:  That will be $1?????

Tessa:  Is it free if you are 5 years old?

Me:  Um, sure.

Tessa:  I'M FIVE YEARS OLD.

Me: Well, then your salon experience today is free.

Tessa:  Yay!

 It must be nice to be five years old and make up the rules as you go along.
